On Saturday October 24, 2026, the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office hosted the first annual Cuffs, Coffins & Cops haunted house. The event was held at the Sheriff’s Office on Mary’s Court and was free for all. Participation was slightly more than anticipated with over 520 residents coming out to enjoy the festivities.
A special thanks needs to go out to Mike and Sharri Bibb who donated the use of all of our lighting and decorations, including their expert set up and decorating skills. Sonny Jones from the Easton Volunteer Fire Company, who set up his grill and prepared hundreds of hot dogs, chips and water for everyone. Simmons Market of Cambridge who donated the hot dogs and buns, Jimmy Higgins of Clean Spot for his generous donation of a portable restroom, Gannon Farms who donated hay bales set up around our inflatable movie screen, the Department of Emergency Services, Department of Human Resources, States Attorney’s Office and Facilities Maintenance for their time and assistance getting the Office ready for the event.
The idea for a haunted house was formed by Major Steve Elliott and endorsed by Sheriff Joe Gamble as a way to bring the community to our house for some light entertainment. Everyone approached quickly came on board and the event grew into a massive project that turned out awesome. Everyone involved seemed to have a good time and the interaction between county departments and the community was outstanding.
Thank you to everyone who assisted, participated and hung out for this event.
