• Free Community Talk Takes the Guesswork out of Medicare Open Enrollment

Easton, MD — Medicare Open Enrollment is coming, and most people face it the same way: uncertain, a little overwhelmed, and not entirely sure they made the right call last year. This fall, Shore Neurocognitive & Behavioral Health (SNBH) is offering Eastern Shore residents a rare opportunity to get real answers — in a room with no sales pitch attached.

On October 8, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., SNBH will host a free community talk, Are You Ready for Medicare? Don't Leave Money — or Coverage — on the Table, featuring Amanda Adkins, Founder of MyHealthGap, LLC.

Adkins brings deep expertise in Medicare planning and a reputation for translating complex coverage decisions into plain English. The decisions made during Open Enrollment will affect health coverage and out-of-pocket costs for all of 2027 — and the most costly mistakes are often the ones people didn't know they were making.

Attendees will come away understanding the real differences between Medicare Advantage, Original Medicare, Medicare Supplement, and Part D; how to read an Annual Notice of Change; what's changing in 2027, including Maryland-specific updates; and why the monthly premium is only part of the picture.

"Almost nobody feels completely confident about their Medicare choices — and that's not a personal failing, it's just how complicated the system is," said Dr. Maggie Black, licensed psychologist and owner of SNBH. "This is a chance to sit down with a genuine expert, ask the questions you've been carrying around, and leave feeling like you actually understand your options. The talk is free and open to anyone approaching Medicare eligibility, currently enrolled, or helping a family member navigate coverage decisions. Space is limited.
