Critchlow Adkins and Rotary Bring Interactive Learning to Local Classrooms
Critchlow Adkins Children’s Centers is grateful for a grant from the Rotary Club of Easton, which is helping to light up classrooms in its programs.
Thanks to Rotary’s generous support, one of the classrooms at the Critchlow Adkins Preschool Site will be equipped with a new Smartboard, bringing interactive, hands-on technology directly into the learning experience of our youngest students. We are deeply grateful for Rotary’s investment in our children and our educators.
Smartboards — also known as interactive whiteboards — do far more than replace a traditional board at the front of the room. They spark curiosity. They invite participation. They turn lessons into shared experiences. With the touch of a finger, students can sort, draw, build, explore, and collaborate in real time. Teachers can instantly access learning tools, adapt lessons to meet diverse needs, and create dynamic, engaging classroom moments that bring learning to life.
The addition of this technology complements the Critchlow Adkins approach to education by fostering a lifelong love of learning through joyful, collaborative, and meaningful lessons.
And Rotary’s partnership doesn’t stop with funding. Rotary’s student arm — the Interact Club — regularly visits Critchlow Adkins sites to lead hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities. From designing race tracks for mini robots called Hexbugs to building snowmen using only paper, pipe cleaners, and tape to launching rubber-band rockets and exploring chain reactions, these projects bring creativity, problem-solving, and big smiles into our classrooms.
“We are so fortunate to have Rotary as a partner, because it enhances the learning experience for the children we serve,” said Critchlow Adkins, Executive Director, Cristy Morrell. “As the saying goes, ‘It takes a village to raise a child.’ At Critchlow Adkins, we like to add that our village is the very best.”
We are grateful not only for Rotary’s generosity but also for its ongoing commitment to investing in children, education, and the future of our community.
