September is almost here! |
As we head into our fifth September, we wanted to send a special ‘thank you’ to all of you who have supported our initiative. Substance use prevention remains at the heart of our mission — and we do also continue to support our recovery community.
We know Covid has challenged many of us in unprecedented ways, and the overdose death data for last year shows the tragic consequences on people with substance use disorder (SUD).
We continue to search for ways to help prevent substance use while supporting parents, kids and anyone else affected by SUD, either personally or in a friend or family member.
Festival of Hope
To that end, we are excited for our upcoming Festival of HOPE — key word, HOPE, because we could all use some! The festival is part festive, part somber — a time to reflect on those we’ve lost while also remembering that we can all, collectively, keep hope alive.
The festival includes free hot dogs, pit beef, tacos and snowballs plus 20+ information tables for people looking for resources. We will have Narcan training and a sign making station for the Walk of Solidarity, which starts directly after our official kick-off at 7:45, at the gazebo. We sure HOPE you’ll join us. Our official media partner, Forever Media/WCEI/WINX will broadcast live from the event.
Please help us thank our festival food sponsors, who have ensured FREE food for all: Qlarant, for our pit beef, hot dogs, chips and water; Spring & Associates, for tacos and WIN Trucking, for snow balls. |

Operation Save A Life |
We also are optimistic about our new initiative, Operation Save A Life, a program from Worcester Goes Purple that we brought here. Partners get a FREE wall-mounted opioid overdose response kit plus a window cling. Each kit includes Narcan, the opioid OD reversal medication.
We’d like to thank our first round of partners for joining the fight:
