About Us
Not My Child, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based on the Eastern Shore of Maryland dedicated to addressing the devastating impact of substance use disorder on individuals, families, and communities. Founded in memory of Anthony Reno, Jr., who tragically lost his life due to opioids, our mission is to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and provide hope, education, and practical support for those affected.
We deliver prevention and education programs, family support services, and direct recovery resources through Project Restart, which empowers individuals in recovery to rebuild their lives, gain stability, and successfully reenter the workforce. By tackling barriers such as unemployment, stigma, and lack of resources, Project Restart fosters long-term resilience and community health.
Our organization also strengthens connections by partnering with businesses, schools, health providers, civic leaders, and law enforcement to expand outreach and create collaborative solutions. We work to promote prevention among youth, provide guidance for families in crisis, and advocate for compassionate, evidence-based responses to substance use disorder.
Each year, our signature fundraisers, Carmen's Charity Casino Gala and the Lil' Amps Bent Rods Fishing Tournament, engage sponsors, participants, and families across the region, raising vital funds that directly sustain our mission-driven programs.
Through collaboration, advocacy, and innovation, Not My Child is building a stronger, healthier community and ensuring no family has to face addiction alone.
