  • St. Patrick’s Day Tradition at the Oxford Community Center

Oxford, MD – The tradition continues!  Every year the Community Center honors St. Patrick’s Day with an Irish feast.  Corn beef and cabbage, potatoes & carrots, soda bread, sweets and Guinness fill the halls for a warm, lively celebration.  Dinner is accompanied by entertainment featuring the Free N’ Eazy Band along with M.C. Al Smith. Surprise entertainment is being planned as well.

This event is a showcase of the incredible volunteers that help the Community Center accommodate over a hundred people that evening as well as thousands over the full year.  The Center could not do many of the events without their support! Bring your friends and families for a good ol’ time celebrating together.

The dinner is Friday, March 13th at 6:00 PM offered for $25 with cash bar. All proceeds from the evening support the programs and events produced at the Oxford Community Center whose mission is to enrich community life by fostering educational, cultural and social opportunities. OCC’s vision is to enhance programming, expand participation and ensure fiscal sustainability while respecting the Center’s history and traditions.

The Oxford Community Center Building (OCC) has served as a community resource for over 80 years, first as a grammar school and then a high school and, for the last quarter century, as a cultural activities center and meeting place. OCC provides to residents and visitors alike a year-round schedule of social, cultural, and recreational programs and events. It is indeed a mid-shore treasure enriching lives since 1928. Programs are funded in part by a grant from the Talbot County Arts Council with revenues provided by the Maryland State Arts Council.
