  • Announcing the Artists for Oxford Fine Arts 2020
    Oxford, MD –In its 36th year, Oxford Fine Arts celebrates artists from around the Mid-Atlantic.  This year the juror was Alan Brock. Alan is an artist, an architect, fine art collector, and art dealer. He owns the South Street Art Gallery in Easton, MD and has an extensive private collection featuring renowned artists from the region and throughout the United States. Alan selected forty-four artists with 36% new to the festival. Congratulations to the accepted artists listed below:

    Winning the special award of featured artist this year is C. Keith Whitelock.  His image “Heading Out” won the attention of the juror for its detail, subtle lines and use of muted colors. The featured image appears on the event poster and in all press for the 2020 festival.
    The Oxford Community Center’s three day show ushers in the summer season by drawing local collectors, as well as those from the Baltimore-Washington, Annapolis, Philadelphia, Virginia and New York City areas. The artists and collections presented will excite even the most seasoned collectors with fine works found in many of their favorite mediums.
    The event opens on Friday night with the Preview Party where collectors, artists, and their guests enjoy first looks at the exhibit, and get first opportunity to buy the art!  $1500 in artist awards will be presented at the Preview Party thanks to event sponsors. Throughout the weekend artist demonstrations will be presented and there will be projects for the young and young at heart artist too. A community instillation project welcomes all visitors.
    Lunch both Saturday and Sunday is available from 12:00 – 2:00 PM under the tent by the grill.  The menu features incredible chicken salad, hotdogs and a few surprises added each year. Infamous Strawberry Shortcake is offered both days.
    At the close of the Saturday show, there will an “Ag-Fest” dinner celebrating Maryland foods provided by multiple farm sourced restaurants with craft beers and live music for all to enjoy. On Sunday afternoon, there will be bubbly and a raffle drawing for fantastic pieces of works that the artists donate to support the Community Center’s mission, which is to serve the community and region with a year-round schedule of educational, cultural, and recreational programs and events.  All proceeds from Oxford Fine Arts support the Community Center’s programs, geared for all ages.

    Friday, May 15th, 5:30pm – 8:00pm, $80 includes open bar and wonderful food. Your ticket to the Preview Party is a weekend pass, inviting you back each day for free.
    Saturday, May 16th, 10:00 – 5:00pm, $10
    Saturday, May 16th, Happy Hour, Music and “Ag-Fest”, 4:00 – 8:00pm, $20 & cash bar
    Sunday, May 17th, 10:0 – 4:00pm, $10
