DESCRIPTION:We are very excited to be partnering again this year with Easton Economic Development Corporation to co-host the Plein Air Kick Off Party this Friday\, July 14th!\n\n \n\nWhat is Plein Air?\n\nPlein Air Easton is the largest and most prestigious juried plein air painting competition in the United States. It is a project of the Avalon Foundation\, Inc.  Celebrating its 19th year in 2023\, the competition is held in Easton\, Maryland each July.  Plein air painters produce art from life in the open outdoors\, as opposed to in the studio. Artists from all over the United States and beyond apply to this competition beginning December 1st of the previous year.  Fifty-eight artists are juried into the competition by a unique juror each year. Once selected\, the competing artists travel to Talbot County to paint throughout the week. This year's competition takes place July 14th through the 23rd.  This event draws many visitors to Talbot County to witness such talent in action!\n\n \n\nThe Talbot Chamber and EEDC co-host the Plein Air Kick Off Party from 5-9pm on the first day of the festival by providing raffle tickets to participating businesses for their customers to enter to win lots of wonderful door prizes during the drawing at 7:15pm. Customers receive one raffle ticket for every $25 spent ON FRIDAY\, JULY 14th only.\n\n \n\nLast year\, we received over 1\,000 raffle ticket stubs\, equating to more than $25\,000 in economic impact!\n\n \n\nWould you please consider donating a door prize or gift certificate from your business to this great event? This is our opportunity to show off all that Talbot County has to offer: great wines\, fabulous restaurants\, beautiful accommodations\, fun attractions\, unique gifts and wonderful retailers! Email us at amy@talbotchamber.org to pick up your door prize donation by Thursday\, July 13th.\n\n \n\nThe customers must drop off their raffle stubs to the Talbot Chamber's tent by 7pm Friday\, July 14th. The tent will be located on Harrison Street near Trippe Gallery. Winners MUST be present to win.\n\n\n\nThe Kick Off Party from 5-9pm will include:\n\nGallery Walk\n\nShop and Win\n\nImmersive Shakespeare Experience\n\nand\n\nNocturne Paint Out* 8:30pm\n\n*paint alongside competition artists
