Year round there are permanent and special exhibitions at the Academy Art Museum, shows and performances at the Oxford Community Center, and all types of musical concerts are presented throughout the year at the Avalon Theatre.
The Tred Avon Players have established a fine reputation for quality stage productions. The local schools present both musicals and dramatic productions displaying the talent of our young people all through the year. The Easton Choral Arts Society and Chesapeake Chamber Music Inc. offer professional concerts held in many locations around the County.
Located in the heart of downtown Easton for more than 50 years, the Historical Society of Talbot County has interpreted the rich heritage of the Eastern Shore. The Society's exhibition gallery covers a wide range of topics relating to the history of the Eastern Shore.
Festivals in Talbot County provide an ideal opportunity for enjoying our hospitality, arts and entertainment. The St. Michaels Food and Wine Festival held in the spring is the premier food and wine festival of the Mid-Atlantic region held on the beautiful waterfront campus of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels. Oxford Day is a celebration of small town living held annually in Oxford Maryland. The Plein-Air Festival is a dynamic painting competition and festival held in July and offers an opportunity to interact with some of the nation's top plein air painters. In fall Easton plays host to the Chesapeake Film Festival to entertain, enrich and inspire by bringing the finest in narrative, documentary and short film to the Chesapeake Bay community. Waterfowl Festival in the fall offers an expansive exhibit of fine waterfowl art. Other special art fairs and auctions are held throughout the year including Academy Art Museum Craft Show, the Festival of Trees in Easton, and the Tilghman Island Days in Tilghman. NightCat is the Eastern Shore's best small venue for live music. With a seating capacity of around fifty, there isn't a bad seat in the house!
