 Has supported drug free workplace practices in Talbot County for over twenty years. Talbot County has recently organized a committee to look at ways to encourage the adoption of these practices and Jim Proctor, HEC's president, represents the Talbot Chamber on this committee.
 
The committee is working to educate and encourage employers in the adoption of drug free workplace policies and procedures. In order to more actively support the committee and the Chamber, HEC is now offering a number of no cost services exclusively to Talbot County Chamber members.
 
These free services include:
 
1)   HEC will review of existing employment policies and procedures to determine how the adoption of new drug free workplace practices are can be integrated.
2)   HEC will develop a drug free workplace implementation plan.
3)   Working with the employer's attorney, the development of new policies and procedures that best insures the adoption of drug free practices that do not violate local, state or federal employment law.
4)   To maximize the benefits of your new drug free workplace program, HEC will provide supervisors with a four hour training seminar.
5)   So that employees can appreciate how they benefit from the adoption of new drug free workplace policies, HEC will provide employee briefings and newsletters.
6)   And HEC will assist Talbot Chamber members in the day-to-day management of drug free workplace activities to include:
  a. Coordination of all drug free workplace activities in partnership with the employer's designated employee representative.
  b. Assistance in establishing a records management system that tracks all drug free workplace documentation.
  c. The offsite storage and maintenance of all substance abuse testing records.
  d. For employees located in other than the employer's main office, the Identification of  and coordination with service providers who can support employee's needs no matter where they are located.
